| The Dave Murphy Band’s first independent CD “Waiting for Dave” can also be purchased at our live shows, and we of course highly recommend it. Our first disc contains ten very wide-ranging original tracks marking our initial explorations of funk, rock, blues and more. The opening track “Suits and Cigars” is a driving funk rock-number; “Beauty in the End” is a harmony-laden pop song with a spiritual examination of endings and beginnings; “Too Drunk to Funk” is a crowd favorite at the band’s live shows, and “The Right Place” is a great blues number with an extended boogie-woogie piano solo by Dave. The slow blues of “Die With a Bottle” appropriately closes the album, for this incredibly powerful number fully demonstrates the band’s many talents: musicianship, songwriting, singing, passion and live performance. Just like our latest CD, “Waiting for Dave” also features a wide variety of music that is sure to be loved by anyone who has ever enjoyed the band’s live performances. |
